Remembering Fiona Lowe: The Heartbreaking Loss of Chad Lowe’s 13-Year-Old Daughter
Oct
The entertainment world and fans around the globe are mourning alongside actor Chad Lowe and his family following the tragic news of the death of his 13-year-old daughter, Fiona Lowe. On September 30, 2026, the Pretty Little Liars star and his wife, Kim Painter, publicly shared the devastating loss of their second-eldest daughter, prompting a wave of sympathy and support across social media and the entertainment industry.
Here is a closer look at the loving tributes, the family’s memorable moments together, and the heartbreaking update shared by the Lowe family.
A Devastating Announcement from Chad Lowe and Family
In a touching statement released to the public, Chad Lowe and Kim Painter expressed the deep sorrow felt by their entire household, which includes Fiona’s sisters, Mabel (17) and Nixie (10).
“We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona,” the family stated. “She was a loving young girl who was smart, creative, and loved to dance. She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents. In fact, she was the light of our lives.”
While an official cause of death was not explicitly detailed, the family included a poignant message pointing to mental health awareness, encouraging anyone who might be struggling to reach out to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
Fiona Lowe’s Last Red Carpet Appearance with Her Family
Although Chad Lowe has maintained a relatively private family life over the years, the family of five shared a rare and joyful moment in the spotlight in February 2023.
Attending the red carpet premiere of Disney’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur in Los Angeles, Chad, Kim, Mabel, Fiona, and Nixie posed together for photographers. It marked the final public red carpet appearance for the entire family together, capturing a bright moment of unity and happiness that fans now look back on with fondness.
Milestones and Family Resilience
The bond within the Lowe family was frequently highlighted in personal posts shared by Chad Lowe. Just months before her passing, Chad celebrated Fiona’s milestone 13th birthday in November 2025 with a heartfelt tribute on Instagram.
Posting a photograph of Fiona smiling near a picturesque creek, Chad wrote: “Celebrating Fiona officially becoming a teen today!! Keep dancing through life FiBear! Love you soooo much!!”
The past few years had presented significant challenges for the household. Prior to this loss, the Lowe family faced severe adversity when they lost their California home during the Palisades wildfire. At the time, Chad praised his daughters for their extraordinary resilience, sharing photos of Mabel, Nixie, and Fiona leaning on each other for strength during a difficult chapter.
Honoring Fiona’s Memory and Seeking Support
As Chad Lowe and his family navigate this profound sorrow, they have requested privacy and prayers from the public. Friends, colleagues, and fans continue to send messages of condolence, remembering Fiona as a bright, creative, and spirited young girl whose passion for dance brought endless light to those around her.
